Week 1
We've got to choose 3 of our favourite stop motion shorts and explain the reasons behind our selections.
Stop Motion Shorts 1
"Fresh Guacamole" by PES is an animated short that was nominated for an Oscar. It's a fusion of creativity and culinary artistry, inviting viewers into a whimsical world where making guacamole takes on a whole new meaning. Instead of using traditional ingredients, the short takes a playful twist by incorporating unexpected objects like dice, grenades, baseballs, and more into the recipe. Overall, it's a visually stunning and imaginative short that bursts with colour and charm.
Stop Motion Shorts 2
This stop motion short is created using wool. I can't get enough of it because it's so satisfying to watch, with all the tiny and cute things. Also, the attention to detail, such as the smoke effect, is very impressive. The story is very simple, but I know it takes time to make the wool miniatures. Overall, this short is eye-catching and adorable, and it makes me feel so relaxed while watching it.
Stop Motion Shorts 3
"DISTORTION" is created by Swedish animator Alexander Unger, also known as Guldies. The short's style, which I really love, is surrealism. Despite the unconventional design, it is deeply engaging. The creator skilfully weaves together 2,500 still pictures, played at 24 frames per second, to make this masterpiece. This short truly showcases the talent of the creator in transforming clay into stunning visual effects.
Final Project - Stop Motion
I decided to use Lego for my stop motion.
